Equipment progression

The
Forge.

HardcoreRPG turns advanced armor, weapons, and tools into a real progression layer. Materials have destinations. Boss drops have purpose. Craftsmanship becomes a player identity. Two swords can begin from the same template and still leave the forge with different stories.

Rarity language

Readable at a glance.
Deep underneath.

Rarity should communicate possibility, not automatically guarantee a better item. Item level, quality, affixes, base template, build fit, and player skill can all matter.

Forge lifecycle

From drop
to identity.

The Forge is the bridge between the custom-mob reward economy and equipment players actually care about.

01 / Recover

Components

Gather ore, salvage equipment, defeat custom mobs, clear bosses, finish contracts, and return from endgame content with materials.

02 / Choose

Template

Select the equipment family, material path, level requirement, and intended build. Templates define structure rather than the entire result.

03 / Roll

Quality

Forging skill, station quality, catalysts, materials, and recipe rules determine the allowable result envelope.

04 / Shape

Affixes

Affix families, tiers, locking, reroll limits, binding state, durability, and costs keep progression controlled and auditable.

Generated equipment

Stats are only
half the item.

HardcoreRPG can record every generated item as a unique instance. That makes player armories, crafted-by history, equipped gear, future trading controls, reforging history, and seasonal item records possible.

Instance identity

Unique items

Each forged item can have a UUID, owner, crafter, template, item level, gear score, quality score, binding state, and full plugin payload.

Database-backed provenance
Build identity

Affixes

Prefix, suffix, utility, defensive, offensive, gathering, and class-specific affix families can create meaningful build choices.

Tiered rolled values
Skill identity

Crafted by

A master forger's name can matter. The system can preserve who created the item and what progression state shaped the roll.

Player economy ready
Balancing guardrails

Strong without
becoming absurd.

The item system should have hard limits. Rarity, affix count, affix family conflicts, level requirements, item budgets, upgrade ceilings, reroll costs, durability behavior, and seasonal rules all belong in configuration rather than ad hoc lore.

Budget

Power ceilings

Every item level and rarity can have a bounded stat budget so one lucky roll cannot detonate the combat model.

Compatibility

Affix rules

Mutually exclusive families prevent nonsense combinations and give individual builds cleaner identities.

Economy

Resource sinks

Repair, reforging, rerolls, catalysts, and high-tier recipes can remove materials from circulation without deleting meaningful gear.
