/hc story listThere is no chosen route through this world. The old maps show a single road because someone tried to make every road answer to one bell. They broke the crossings instead. What follows is a set of accounts, arguments, field notes, and keepsakes left by people who lived through it. Read in order, out of order, or only when a place gives you a reason.
Before the fracture, the regions met through small, shifting crossings called the Meridian. It was not a highway. A river shelf, a pass beneath a ridge, or a lantern left at a fork could become a route for a season. People travelled by local knowledge and hospitality. The ferrymen knew the tide paths; orchard keepers knew which roots covered a safe hollow; the coast runners left bells where fog swallowed the cliffs. No single chart held the whole network, and no single power could close it. The oldest useful objects were practical: folding tables, repair kits, rope, jars, and marks that another traveler could understand. Their makers did not call them relics. They called them things worth leaving behind.
Open in game ·/hc story the_meridianTrade grew, routes shifted, and storms took their toll. The Chartwrights proposed a permanent map. The Lantern Couriers wanted dependable shelters. The Bellkeepers wanted warnings shared across borders. Their Meridian Charter joined all three aims, and at first it saved lives. Then the Survey Office built the Northglass Atlas: a machine meant to make every crossing hold still. Its operators gathered a local stone from each region and tied the machine to a bell beneath the old capital. A junior chartwright later found a second ledger. The Atlas was not only measuring routes; it was using the names of people who had refused the Charter as anchors. The surviving record does not say who authorized that page.
Open in game ·/hc story the_charterWhen the Atlas rang, the Meridian did not become one road. It pulled ten regions through one another and left them separated by impossible distance. The Ashen March kept a burned gate. The Frostbound Reach kept the footprints of its missing travelers. Verdant Hollow grew over empty houses; Stormveil Coast learned to read storms as messages. Umbral Deep reflected places that might never have existed, and the Sunken Crown kept its cargo records below the tide. The Shattered Dunes covered their streets, Wyrmfall Basin cooled around a road of lava, Starfall Tundra redrew the sky, and Hollow Eclipse held a silence so complete that every footstep could be heard. The keepers are not the cause of the disaster. Each is attached to a place, duty, or memory that the fracture refused to erase.
Open in game ·/hc story the_fractureSurvivors did not wait for a prophecy. They made tables from doors, set forges in watchtowers, and traded tools at camps. The Wayfinder's Workbench grew from that custom: a public surface where materials and instructions could be left for the next traveler. The Runic Forge is a later craft, using regional cores as steady heat and memory rather than as fuel. The Overtool began as a bundle of repair heads passed between smiths; its odd shape is the result of many hands improving it. These objects are not keys to the world and they do not demand a particular bearer. They are evidence that small, repeated acts of maintenance outlasted the Charter's grand machine.
Open in game ·/hc story the_small_repairsEvery region tells the fracture differently. March wardens say a bell should warn, never command. Frostbound trail recorders trust tracks but distrust maps. Verdant orchard keepers leave house keys in the roots. Stormveil couriers collect wreck tokens and read thunder as a route. Umbral archivists preserve reflections without deciding which is true. Sunken Crown tide witnesses keep the names of ships that may arrive later. Dune guides walk around buried squares; basin foundry keepers disagree about whether the Wyrm Tyrant protects or hoards heat. Starfall watchers use arrows to mark unfamiliar lights. In Hollow Eclipse, the Watcher turns toward a bell no one has found. Their evidence contradicts one another, sometimes because the same place can be shelter to one person and a prison to another. The Chronicle pages are written by witnesses, not by an impartial narrator.
Open in game ·/hc story ten_local_truthsThe Broken Bestiary is a working field catalog, not a list of monsters to clear. Its specimens are tied to the creature that left them and to the biome where they were found. A shell-bearing creature cannot leave a wing feather; an arthropod's chitin does not come from a grazing herd. The local trace changes with water, high wind, heat, and darkness, so a tide-bound sample belongs to a wet place and an ember trace to hot ground. Regional keepers also carry the material history of their duties: a bell clapper in the Ashbound Sentinel, a harbor log in the Drowned Oracle, keys in the Mossheart Guardian's roots. Their drops preserve what their stories say they protected, carried, or became.
Open in game ·/hc story the_living_catalogThe dragon arrived through a tide gate during the fracture. It did not break the roads; it was caught in the break with everyone else. The incubator frame was first built to shelter storm-stranded animals. Obsidian braces hold heat, and joined regional cores steady the air around a shell, but no frame can command what wakes inside. The Infernal Dragon may be frightened, defensive, or simply trying to return to a territory that no longer exists. Some foundries call its fire a danger; some ferry keepers remember it warming a whole shelter. The egg is a living life, not a boss token. Care for it, give it space, and do not mistake surviving a fight for understanding it.
Open in game ·/hc story the_dragonThree currents remain. The Chartwright Remnant wants to reactivate the Atlas: one route would make trade safer and place its stewards in control. The Lantern Couriers want reliable crossings and shared shelters, even if the paths continue to move. The Free Bearings argue that no community should need permission to mark a road. The Quiet Cartographers keep maps deliberately incomplete, believing another attempt at permanence could repeat the fracture. None is wholly right or wholly dishonest. Players can explore, build, trade, fight, collect, or ignore every faction. There is no chapter gate and no required ending. The world's story advances through the traces you keep, the places you repair, and the paths you choose to share.
Open in game ·/hc story many_open_roadsThe road is not repaired by reaching an ending. Each safe camp, shared tool, marked crossing, and remembered name changes what the world can become. Read in any order. Chronicle books and creature specimens add more local voices; keepers, recipes, and other systems are available on their own terms.
Each keeper has a configured natural spawn biome. Keeper materials and Chronicle pages are restricted to that encounter biome and tied to the specific keeper; vanilla Minecraft drops remain alongside campaign rewards.

Natural keepers use their configured regional spawn rules and campaign loot table. A crafted keeper egg lets you summon the fight on clear ground, but the summoned encounter is deliberately excluded from drops and progression rewards. Drop amounts and identities match plugin definitions; probabilities are not published here.
These plugin-defined archetypes are separate from the ten Broken Road keepers above. Profiles below come from the current custom-mob definitions; spawn odds are intentionally left out.

Search all 2,048 item definitions by name, realm, resonance, anatomy, compatible creature group, rarity, and the configured glint. A definition only enters a live drop pool when its realm, resonance, and source group match the death context.
/hc item list [page] bestiaryBestiary drops are enabled in the bundled default configuration. On an eligible mob death, the biome and world determine the realm; local biome, dimension, weather, height, and time determine resonance. The creature is assigned a source group, and only components listing that group in source-groups can drop. The plugin applies the configured chance for each roll, then rarity-weights the matching pool and stamps the dropped copy with the exact source creature and biome in lore and item data. The bundled configuration allows eligible deaths without a player kill. Managed dragon encounters roll from the dragon’s actual biome and source group for each eligible participant. The bundled default preserves original Minecraft drops even when a custom table replaces vanilla drops. A compatible item pool is still required for a drop.

Each image uses the Minecraft base material defined in bestiary-items.yml. The item file defines its name, lore, rarity, glow flag, realm, resonance, component, and compatible source groups. These materials have no configured potion or on-use effects. A dropped specimen receives additional creature and biome provenance in game. Textures are from the Java Edition resource assets; this independent project is not affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft.
